This puts Vodafone in last place in terms of the sheer amount of locations covered. You can get 5G on any plan except Vodafone’s Basics plans. In big cities you shouldn’t run into any trouble. We got speeds between 6 - 8 Mbps in the middle of a field. We think that 4G speeds in rural areas have suffered as a consequence of Vodafone’s expansion into more rural locations.

Vodafone’s call signal is quite good for getting indoors too, which actually made it difficult to test their WiFi calling as we struggled to get a signal poor enough for it to switch over to WiFi calling. And in some very urban areas we got even faster 4G+ signal. We never lost 4G connection when we were testing in the places where lots of people live, like towns and cities. When in the more rural areas we were pleasantly surprised at how often we still got 4G, though speeds did begin to suffer there. These places included in the city centre, in small towns, in smaller villages and right in the sticks. We tested our Vodafone SIM by putting it into a test phone and going to different areas to measure what sort of signal strength we could get.
